Return Period

  • Returns must be requested within five days of receiving your order.
  • Requests after this period may not be accepted unless the product is faulty or defective under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Eligibility for Returns

  • Products must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.
  • Returned products must be in a condition suitable for resale.
  • Proof of purchase (such as an invoice or order confirmation) is required for all returns.
  • Certain items may not be eligible for return, including clearance items, customised products, or goods that cannot be resold for health and safety reasons (such as hazardous chemicals or paints that have been opened).

Defective or Damaged Goods

  • If products are delivered damaged, faulty, or incorrect, ABF Distributors will cover the cost of return shipping.
  • Customers may request a replacement item, store credit, or a full refund.
  • All defective or damaged goods must be reported within seven days of delivery and returned with original packaging where possible.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers may return unwanted products within five days at their own expense.
  • Products must be unused, sealed, and in resalable condition.
  • Refunds for change-of-mind returns exclude the original delivery fee.

Refund Process

  • Once returned goods have been received and inspected, refunds will be processed within seven to fourteen business days.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
  • For EFT payments, customers will be required to provide banking details for the refund transfer.
  • For account holders (clients on 7, 14, or 30-day payment terms), credit notes may be issued instead of refunds, depending on the agreement in place.

Exchanges

  • Exchanges may be requested instead of refunds, subject to stock availability.
  • If the requested replacement item is not available, a refund or store credit will be offered.

Return Shipping

  • Where the return is due to a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, ABF Distributors will arrange and pay for collection.
  • Where the return is due to a change of mind, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping.
  • Customers are encouraged to use a reliable courier with tracking for return shipments, as ABF Distributors cannot be held responsible for lost return parcels.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Customised, made-to-order, or clearance items are non-returnable unless defective under warranty.
  • Products that present health and safety risks if returned (such as opened paints, adhesives, or hazardous chemicals) cannot be accepted back unless proven defective.

Warranties and Repairs

  • For products covered by manufacturer warranties, customers must follow the warranty process outlined by the manufacturer.
  • ABF Distributors will assist in facilitating warranty claims where possible but is not responsible for the outcome of such claims.
  • Repairs or replacements under warranty are subject to manufacturer inspection and approval.

Consumer Protection Act Compliance

  • This policy is aligned with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
  • Nothing in this policy is intended to limit a customer’s rights as provided for under the CPA.
